Professor Jan Studniarski (1876–1946)

He was born in Szamotuły. He studied engineering, theory of machines, and electrical engineering at technical universities in Berlin, Stuttgart, and Hannover, where, in 1902, he received an engineer’s degree and in 1905, a doctor’s degree in engineering.Senior lecturer of the Military Technical Academy in Berlin.

Since 1920, he had been associated with the Mining Academy as a professor of electrical engineering and head of the Institute of Electrical Engineering. In the years 1921–1922 he was dean of the Faculty of Metallurgy, in the years 1922–1924 a rector of the academy, and in the years 1924–1926 a vice-rector.

Professor Studniarski authored more than a dozen papers on electrical engineering, published in Poland and Berlin. He developed numerous projects, research expertise, and opinions for the coal industry. He died in 1946 in Krakow.
