Doctor Honoris Causa (Latin: ‘for the sake of the honour') is the highest honorary academic degree conferred on individuals who rendered immense service to culture and science. It is usually awarded to people of high social and academic status.

 

The AGH UST confers the title to prominent scholars, technology creators, and other people associated with the university who have not been active or retired employees of the academia. The symbols of the distinction are a diploma, Rector's medal, and an epitogium.

The Honorary Doctorate is conferred during a ceremonial session of the AGH UST Senate.
