Modern equipment constitutes a huge support for any research activity. We boast, among other things, one of the most powerful microscopes in the world – Titan Cubed G-2 60-300; measuring equipment, including cleanroom devices with apparatus for nanotechnology and materials nanodiagnostics; a specialised CT scanner used to examine building materials. Moreover, the AGH UST has one of the quietest places in Poland – an anechoic chamber. Our laboratories are equipped with high-class apparatus; Given the impossibility of listing all our research facilities, here are but a few: Laboratory of Energy Efficiency and Building Automation – AutBudNet, RWE AGH UST Solar Lab, LTE Laboratory, AGH UST – KGHM Polska Miedź SA Laboratory of Critical Elements, AGH UST-Aptiv Laboratory of Autonomous Vehicles, and Industry 4.0 Laboratory.

The AGH UST Academic Computer Centre CYFRONET supports Polish scientists and researchers by making world-class equipment and information technology solutions available to them. Such resources comprise, above all, three supercomputers:
In 2020, Zeus and Prometheus carried out 5,696,919 calculations with a total computing time of 41,761 years!
The AGH UST Academic Computer Centre CYFRONET initiated and coordinates the PLGrid Programme within the framework of which a Poland-wide calculation infrastructure was built to answer the needs of Polish scientific societies.
PLGrid comprises supercomputers and unique IT platforms, as well as single-purpose discipline calculation environments, including specialised scientific software packages – tailored to the needs of scientists from various disciplines.
CYFRONET also coordinates proceedings related to making accessible the resources offered by LUMI – a supercomputer with the processing power of 550 PFlops, which is being constructed in Finland by a consortium of 10 countries and has been made available via the PLGrid Website. Furthermore, CYFRONET coordinates the EuroHPC PL project implemented as part of the EuroHPC Joint Undertaking. Within the framework of the project, supercomputer resources, specialised accelerators, and services for the academic community, economy, and society are being developed.
