Wirtualne seminarium: Interactions of oxygen with MoS2 crystals

Akademickie Centrum Materiałów i Nanotechnologii AGH zaprasza na wirtualne seminarium z cyklu „Krakow Condensed Matter Seminar”, które odbędzie się 28 kwietnia 2021 r. o godz. 9.00.

Referat pt. Interactions of oxygen with MoS2 crystals wygłosi dr hab. Robert Szoszkiewicz, prof. UW (Wydział Chemii, Centrum Nauk Biologiczno-Chemicznych, Uniwersytet Warszawski).

Streszczenie

For numerous applications of microscopic MoS2 crystals one must understand their oxidation reactions in air and water. In this seminar, I will present the studies of microscopic heat-induced oxidation and oxidative etching in the case of thick, mechanically exfoliated, geological 2H MoS2 crystals in air. I will discuss particular reaction mechanisms and show how to differentiate MoO3 oxides and their derivatives onto such surfaces. In order to do so, we combined XPS, AES, XAS, Raman and AFM (topography, friction, Kelvin Probe) measurements on the MoS2 flakes.
