“AGH UST Brainstorming” inspires action

The first edition of “AGH UST Brainstorming” took place on 30 June 2015. The culmination of the most interesting student projects was the official premiere of third AGH racing car.

1. The Maya Project – beehive monitoring and apiary maintenance system awarded in Germany and Poland which was developed by Wojciech Sojka, a student of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Automatics, Computer Science and Biomedical Engineering.

2. 3D printer made of LEGO blocks – all parts of the printer except the printer head were made of LEGO blocks. It was built by Piotr Palczewski from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Robotics.

3. Buggy vehicle – a vehicle capable of being used in extreme conditions built by Dawid Musiał from the Faculty of Foundry Engineering.

4. Damascus steel knife – a khanjar knife made from Damascus steel which was made on their own by Estera Machoń and Remigiusz Błoniarz, students of the Faculty of Metals Engineering and Industrial Computer Science. Project awarded this year at a prestigious conference in Orlando, Florida.

5. AGH Aero Team – a remotely controlled model of cargo aircraft developed by the AGH Aero Team (Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Robotics) which was awarded with three silver medals in international competition SAE AeroDesign in California.

6. AGH Space Systems – rocket and space probe which, after debut, made the students of AGH Space Systems team (Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Robotics) winners of CanSat Competition organized, among others, by NASA in Texas.

7. Premiere of the third AGH UST racing car – the team takes part in competition Student Formula. This year the PULL-ROD suspension was used, i.e. a rod carrying vibrations from the wheel to suspension is placed downward, which means it is pulled when a vehicle runs on a surface bump.
