Best Paper Award for AGH UST scientists

A paper written by Lidia Ogiela, PhD (Faculty of Management) and professor Marek Ogiela (Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Automatics, Computer Science and Biomedical Engineering) was honoured with the Best Paper Award at the International Conference STA 2013 organised at one of the most prestigious Japanese technical universities - Fukuoka Institute of Technology.

The distinguished paper entitled "Security of cognitive information systems" deals with the security of new generation cognitive information systems, as well as the use of biometric data for the purpose of personalised cryptography and the management of secret data.  

The paper from AGH UST was the only Polish publication which had qualified for the competition. The distinction is even more significant when one takes into account that fact that the AGH UST-affiliated paper had a very strong competition of over 120 registered publications submitted by recognised scientific research institutions from all around the world.
