Ewelina Brodawka and Jacek Olszewski, students of the Faculty of Energy and Fuels, field of study Chemical Technology, are the laureates of the 1st edition of the international competition Process Simulation Cup. Moreover, the AGH University of Science and Technology came third in the ranking of universities which encompassed the best results of their students at the particular stages of the competition.
The competition was entered by students and doctoral students of chemical and process engineering from leading technical universities all over the world.
In the final classification, our students took the following places:
In this year’s competition, the participants dealt with the simulation of a technological process in the program ChemCad, modified the values of determined parameters and observed accompanying changes, and in the first place, the time and pace in which they were taking place. The outcome of their work could be followed in a result table, available on the competition website. Each participant was allowed to carry out any number of simulations and thus improve their results.
The winners took part in the 4th Symposium on Computer-Aided Process Optimisation in Cologne, Germany, where they presented the results of conducted simulations, and the ways and methods of obtaining them.
The competition organiser was the Process Simulation Team, supported by the company Chemstations, the producer of the application for technological simulations ChemCad.
