AGH UST higher in the CWUR ranking

In the most recent edition (2022–2023) of The Center for World University Rankings (CWUR), the AGH UST came first among Polish technical universities and third among all Polish higher education institutions classified in the ranking.

Since 2017, the AGH UST has improved its ranking by 260 positions:

• 2017 – 857^th place
• 2018 – 633^rd place
• 2019 – 673^rd place
• 2020 – 624^th place
• 2021 – 606^th place

Complete ranking

Each year, CWUR classifies 2000 top universities around the world. This year’s edition’s top three higher education institutions are from the USA (Harvard University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and Stanford University).

Methodology:

1. Education: based on the academic success of a university’s alumni, and measured by the number of a university's alumni who have won prestigious academic distinctions relative to the university's size (25%)
2. Employability: based on the professional success of a university’s alumni, and measured by the number of a university's alumni who have held top positions at major companies relative to the university's size (25%)
3. Academic employees: measured by the number of staff members who have won prestigious academic distinctions (10%)
4. Research:

• Research Output: measured by the total number of research papers (10%)
• High-Quality Publications: measured by the number of research papers appearing in top-tier journals (10%)
• Influence: measured by the number of research papers appearing in highly influential journals (10%)
• Citations: measured by the number of highly cited research papers (10%)
