Seminar: Bio-aerogels : new polysaccharide highly porous materials

The AGH UST Academic Centre for Materials and Nanotechnology invites you to participate in the ACMiN Seminar, which will take place on November 4, 2021, at 14:00 in hybrid form: on site and on the UPEL platform.

The lecture titled “Bio-aerogels : new polysaccharide highly porous materials” will be given by Professor Tatiana Budtova (Center for Materials Forming, Mines ParisTech, Sophia Antipolis, France).

We invite all participants to join us on site in the D-16 building (30 Kawiory Street) in auditorium 1.02A on the first floor, or use this link to participate online.

Abstract

Aerogels are open-pores low density (around 0.1 g/cm3) nanostructured materials with very high internal surface area (several hundreds of m2/g). We use polysaccharides without any chemical modification to make bio-aerogels. The preparation and properties of bio-aerogels will be presented, and their use for bio-medical applications will be discussed.
