A lecture titled “Materials research by means of X-ray analysis using advanced laboratory instrumentation” will be given by PhD Manuela Klaus (HZB, Berlin, Germany).

Abstract

Nowadays, large-scale facilities such as synchrotron storage rings are very interesting all over the world in materials research and development, because they allow for sophisticated experimental applications. However, since they are strongly in demand, it becomes more and more difficult to get beamtime allocated. Even if beamtime is granted, it is very often much restricted in time. That is why, in my contribution I would like to present what is possible with modern X-ray sources and instrumentation in decentral laboratories. The talk will show the potential of different concepts based on different diffraction modes, techniques and methods. In order to illustrate that a variety of experimental applications are discussed.
